Bare with me in the magical world of HP :)

I was working on these assignment pages and had no intention of doing two HP pages.. however at a scrap meet I had used a friend's Slice machine to cut a cute doe. No idea what I'd use it for.. before I saw the last film in this series.. Then when going through my stash I came across a wedding theme sticker that said "always" there was no way out. 

Professor Snape was my favorite character in the books and films. And even though the pictures on this page are of the films the journaling is more about the books.

 
Have you scrapbooked about a book? I remember doing a page a long time a go listing my 10 favorite books. Go ahead, make a list :)

Are you a fan?

We, my daughter Saara and I, had an opportunity to see some real fan action, as the actors behind Fred and George Weasley from the Harry Potter movies, James and Oliver Phelps, were in town to promote the last film.

And we got a photo! Not a great one, as Saara has her eyes closed and I'm out of focus, but it is a photo of our experience :)

For the journaling I used my slightly edited blog entry. I did something I haven't done in a long while: I printed out the journaling. Most of it is tucked behind the photo on a tag.
 

Now I've been a fan of the entire Harry Potter scene since I read the first page of the first book in December 2000. It has even inspired me to create a dollhouse (miniatures are another dear hobby) set somewhere on Diagon Alley ;)

What are you a fan of? Or were in your teenage years? I had David Lee Roth on my wall, who was on yours?

Are you a Lego fan? If so, you will know all about the Lego Series individual collectible legomen... My younger daughter and I have made an art out of feeling through the packet and figuring out what is inside. We have quite a collection.

 
So when my older daughter made this cool Eiffel Tower, we decided to display it with a few of our legomen.

Have you scrapbooked about a collection? Silver spoons? Paper clips? Christmas ornaments? ;)

Modern technology

If you ask my husband, Facebook is only about gossip. I choose to ignore his opinion ;)  For me Facebook is mainly about being a part of my friends' lives, even if we are separated by just a few miles of oceans and continents. I love being able to check in on their daily goings on.

This also helps when you haven't seen someone for 15 years, but feel current about what's going on in his life, and don't have to waste time in catching up :)

 
I had a visit from just such a friend this summer. This picture was taken by my daughter during our visit to Tallinn, Estonia. We had a lovely time.

Sometimes less is more. I didn't want any distractions on this page. The story still makes me giggle...

One day my 2-year old niece realized there was a small house in my daughter's room. She looked at it for a few seconds, then her tiny hand came forward and knocked on the door. She then looked and waited for the door to open  :D

Now go scrap a page of something that still makes you giggle!

remembering....

we lost our sweet puppy brooke this year, instead of just talking about that I wanted to make a layout for my daughter's album that shows her just how special Brooke was to her :)

sometimes simple is best for me

yes, I love pages full of detail and embellishments, but sometimes simple is best for me! some simple embellishments, journaling and of course pictures, sometimes it's all I need to make a page I love!

just because it makes you happy

sometimes you just need to scrapbook something because it makes you happy. I love the themed pages, but sometimes there are just pictures I love that are begging to be on  a page!
