Welcome to wonderful Wednesday of our "a little Sketchy" week here at the AMLT blog! 

Scrapbooking from a sketch can be a great way to get going if you're having a little inspiration challenge.  Ya know, those days when you just can't seem to get in the groove?  Grab a sketch and get with it.  It's a good way to get started.  

Another thing I like to do involving sketches is get one of my favorite layouts I've created previously or maybe a layout design I've admired online or in a magazine.  Now, grab a sheet of paper and draw out the sketch of that layout design.  When you use that sketch again, most likely, you won't end up with the same layout twice. As you create, you'll end up with a design that looks different than your original sketch or maybe similar but in a whole new way!

Now onto today's sketch...

This week's forecast: a little sketchy!

Happy Monday to all our AMLT blog readers!  Hope you guys are enjoying the beginning of Spring!!

It's my week to host here on the blog-o and I'm hoping to bring you a little inspiration to take a minute and sit down and create a layout!  I love sketches. They're a great tool to use to get your inspiration going and while your finished piece may not even resemble the original sketch, that is okay!  It's just a great starting point, wouldn't you agree?

So this week I'll be bringing you three different sketches. One today, another on Wednesday and then we'll wind up the week with another sketch share on Friday!  If you'd like to join in, post your layouts on our Facebook page and I'll add them to a blog post this week as well!

Week of Happy Colors! - Soft

After this week I hope that you've started to look at the world with your colored glasses on! You can choose to see the world's beauty even when it's not that beautiful. Look for happy details, colorful exclamations, pretty little things and forgotten treasures. Take out your old scrapbooks and remember daring color combinations, new ways to combine different materials and get a new flow in things you create.

I decided to share a very simple and soft card today. I usually go for bold colors, but when I got these Studio Calico-letters I decided to try to make them pop with a deeper, (almost) contrasting color. Probably not a color combo I'd use without thought, but I like how these colors enhanced each other.

Week of Happy Colors! - Red and Blue

I love the color combo yellow and blue (maybe you understood that yesterday). Beautiful, beautiful fabrics from Provence, heaven and sun, sunflowers reaching for the sky, Tricia Guild in all her glory in the 80´s... Unfortunately it's a big "no-no" here in our country since those are the Swedish flag colors. Then I realized that Americans don't seem to have the same relationship to their flag, quite the opposite as a matter of fact! Many Americans love their flags and the white - red - blue colors together. That's why I decided to pair red and blue up for today's blog post. The blue looks black in this picture, but I promise that the card base has a rich, deep blue hue that works great with this Jenni Bowlin paper, and this.

Week of Happy Colors! - Yellow

Dear Friends, Crafters, Scrapbookers, Card makers and Other Readers of this blog... I hope you found something you liked when you looked around yesterday (or today for that matter). I promised you something yellow. Here it is! I made a somewhat different birthday card for my darling who happens to turn 41 tomorrow. You can only write Happy Birthday in so many ways, right? Anyways... I thought it would be fun to use the cute paper from Studio Calico for this card. Numbers and birthdays really go together. The star is from a Maya Road trinket pin pack that I got in the AMLT store the other week, but they seem to be all gone already!

Week of Happy Colors!

This is a week of inspiration. I'd love you all to take a good look around. What do you see? Today I see yellow! Yellow as in the sun, daffodils, the linen pillow in our bedroom, the cross in the Swedish flag, the post-it note pad next to my computer... Yellow is everywhere, and oh, what a happy color it is!

Here in Sweden we have a saying (well, it rhymes in Swedish...); Yellow is ugly. Yellow has been banned by interior decoration magazines, garden planners, designers and blogs for forever, but to my luck I've seen yellow making a statement the last year or so. Hooray! Please make something yellow today. I'm going to share my yellow inspiration tomorrow. See you then!

more summer fun

Can you tell that I am loving this Bo Bunny line for my summer pictures?! The die cut that I used on this page actually has water slides on it, so I cut around the waves and inserted a picture over top. Now I have an instant title for my page, super easy. I made my page 12x6 so there was not much room for extra embellishment. The background paper filled in the extra space nicely without over powering the layout.

Yummy summery colours

I love orange and blue together, so when I saw these adorable pictures of our youngest learning how to sit by himself, I knew that orange would be the perfect pairing. I went a bit eclectic with my design this time, trying to bust out of the rut I find myself in. (But I still have the photo collage :P , can't go too crazy now!)

Spring-y card...

On the Spring/Summer wave length... here is a card with such lovely spring colours. Oh, how I long to see those tulips and daffodils peek their heads out! The birds are already singing here and it is delightful!
