A Million Little Things

You used them once.. now what?

You know what I'm talking about.. we all have them..

Alphabet stickers we bought thinking they were awesome, we used them to write one word and after that they were never really rigth for anything anymore..

The other day I picked up two sheets of lovely colorful alpha stickers and a sheet of white cardstock and started to play. I ended up with a cool background for a birthday page.

 
 
 

Letters are not only for writing... think outside the box every once in a while. The best part? A clear conscience after using it all up.. I can now buy new ones  ;)

Be Inspired: Day 5

Hi everyone! Today's the last day of my week here hosting the AMLT blog. I hope you've enjoyed my "be inspired" week! It has been SO much fun! I just love how bright and happy the above colors are.

Here is what I created with the inspiration I got from the color combo:  
I went with more of a lighter blue than that last color, but loved the colors together and I honestly don't know if I would have put them together on my own. LOL! Be Inspired: Day 4

Hi! Today's inspiration piece is:

Susan Weinroth is one of my FAVORITE scrapbookers. I just love her style, her beautiful photographs of her cute boys and the way she uses color! I am always inspired by her work so I knew I had to include one of her layouts this week!

This is my creation that was inspired by her layout:

 

I had this little 5x7 canvas and wanted to paint it a happy color and embellish it with more happy colors! It's sitting in my studio making me happy as I type this. ;) It's a little simple piece of handmade art, but it would be super sweet to give it to a friend.

Be Inspired: Day 3

It's already day 3 of "be inspired" here on the AMLT blog! I hope you all are having as good of a time as I am and getting inspired by all of these different inspiration pieces.

Be Inspired: Day 2

Hi and welcome to day 2 of "be inspired!"

Today's inspiration pieces is: 
I just love these felt hearts. So sweet! The colors are great, too! Here's what I created using this piece as inspiration:

 
I was inspired by the colors, the hearts themselves and the pinked edging. I decided to go with a scallop edge, though. I added some of my favorite twine, too since the inspiration piece had some stitching. ;)

It was super simple to whip up this easy and sweet card! :)

Be Inspired: Day 1

  Hi there! Welcome to day one of my hosting duties this week on the AMLT blog! :) When I was brainstorming and trying to figure out just what I was going to do during my hosting week on the blog, I thought it would be so much fun to choose something for each day this week and be inspired by it and allow that inspiration to help me create something, whether it be a scrapbook page, a home decor item or even something as small as a card. I don't know about you, but I just love finding something that inspires me and watching my creativity take off because of it. This week, I didn't want to just be inspired myself, I wanted to share what inspired me with all of you in hopes that YOU in turn are inspried. That's what it's all about, right? So that's how "Be Inspired" week came about and today is the first day on this week long journey. So happy you've stopped by and I hope that you come back each day for more inspiration.

The first inspiration piece that I found is this piece:

This inspiration piece is an artwork by one of my favorite artists - Jill McDonald. LOVE her work SO much and find SO much inspiration in everything she creates.

This is what I created using her artwork as inspiration:

I pulled inspiration from the squares and colors for my layout. :)

as you can see from my posts over the past week, I really like using multiple photos on my layouts, I like it even more if I can use multiple photos on a single page :) Sometimes though, one picture is enough. In that case, I dont like to just use the photo, but I like to add on to the page and build it up using patterned papers and accents so that my photo can really be the star. I wanted to share some examples of this:

Even if you aren't a stamper...

I am so not a stamper. Sure, I have bought many of them because I think they would work so perfectly with my pages, but I never end up using them. Sound familiar? For this post, I wanted to break out of my comfort zone and challenge myself to use some stamps on my pages, and I hope you will play along :)

on this first layout, I just used an alphabet stamp (by KI Memories, no longer available) to stamp the letter 'A' behind the title as a monogram for my daughter. I used Versamark ink. I love the subtlety of the stamping and how it just adds a little something extra to the page

This page that I posted on Monday, also uses subtle stamping. When I stamp, I often like to use my stamped images as accents, much like you would use rub ons. The difference with the stamps is that you can use them over and over again and you dont have to buy many packs to have all the colors, you can just use different inks with your stamps
