This is what my big box of ribbon looks like! I have tried to sort my color, manufacturer, type of ribbon... It just works better this way for me! I've gathered ribbon from various places, but most of these come from A Million Little Things.
There are so many great ways to use ribbon! Since I have a pretty bad tooth ache I haven't been able to create any cards or layouts today, but I would love to share a few tips and tricks on how to actually put your ribbon to work (even though they look oh so pretty in their boxes or jars).
When I sew ribbon on paper, I always put a small amount of glue or tape to keep the ribbon in place. Makes it so much easier to get a good looking result!
Try tying various types of bows. Sometimes you need to help out with a glue dot to keep the bow in place. I usually use bows on cards, not so often on my layouts since they tend to get too bulky with all that three dimensional stuff.
Use pretty scraps of ribbon just like paper scraps. Use tape, not glue, to keep the ribbon looking nice. Glue tend to "bleed" and alter the look of the ribbon.
Ribbon is a great way to let two patterned papers "melt together". Put the papers in place and put the ribbon over the seam. Looks so much better!
I hope you have gotten some ideas here. Good luck!
A bunch of cards that I have made lately:
I {heart} ribbon! I love how you used it!
