where do you look for inspiration?

Have I ever told you how much I LOVE Google Reader?!  It's a great way to keep track of all my favorite blogs.  I can keep up with all my friends as well as learn a lot from scrap, photography and DIY blogs!  One of my latest favorites is it's mary ruffle, a sweet and simple photo blog.  The daily posts bring a little smile and happiness with the gorgeous and sometimes whimsical photos & such!  So for this inspiration post, I decided to look up one of my favorite Mary posts!

 

I was inspired by the beautiful colors so I grabbed some of my latest favorite patterned papers and starting playing!  Here's the resulting layout:

Card sketch

Hi everyone...Katie here! Today I wanted to share a really simple card sketch I created and a few cards I created from that sketch. I am very card challenged so sketches are a must for me! Here is the sketch:

Spring has Sprung & I LOVE it!

I love the scent of spring flowers and the vibrant colors that are lining the racks at the stores these days.  I use to be a traditional scrapbooker; however that changed a while back!  Now, I love to make odd sizes (sizes that won't fit in a scrapbook!)  And I really like making items I can display around the house for guests to see.

I have a bombay chest in my living room here I love to display my newest projects.
The black picture frame was a 5 X 7 with a wide border.  I matted my picture and made a flower to glue on top.  Two layouts are on easels and on is on a metal flower frog. 

Everytime I walk into my living room, I catch myself staring at this display.  Take your layouts out of those books and get a little non-traditional!   
 
 

Have you seen a rainbow?

If you are lucky you can catch one in a photo.

Or you can challenge yourself to find the colors of the rainbow around you.

It's a great way to look at ordinary things in a new way. This is an on-going photography project of mine, but I'm happy to report I've completed one rainbow and am well into my next one :)

Well looks like I missed last week, shoot!  It's hard to remember when you have not a lot to say these days.  I'm finding my posts consist of alot of new prodcut links, and since we the new product arrivals are thinning out a bit I find myself with little to say.  Our team offers all the inspiration here, I'm just for the newsie bit ,and quite honestly lately it's pretty slow.  Today however I do have a whole bunch of new stuff in the store!  Here are some links to those new items:

Monday Mini-Album

Hello there, Elizabeth here. Today I have a mini-album to share with you, it is still a work-in-progress but enough that I can show you what I am working on...

I started with a mini-album from Cloud 9, Fiskars, it is actually a baby boy album with hard chipboard ends and 3 doubles pages inside. It is also reversible so you have 3 more double pages on the back side.

It worked out perfectly for an album for my grandmother's 85th birthday. There were enough pages for each of the children to write Grammie a note and also to include a photo collage at the end.

Here is the front of the album ...

 A simple monotone title using lots of my favourite letter stickers ;)

This is a sample of one of the inside pages, a picture on one side and a message on the other. I kept it simple by using photo corners to frame both items.

I still need to write my sentiment on our page :P

This is the final page with pictures of Grammie with each of the children.

The album already has the coloured pages on the inside so I didn't even have to use extra supplies to make it more colourful. It was very easy to put together and I am sure she will cherish these pictures and thoughts from her great-grandchildren. Have a great day!

Product Spotlight - Jillibean Soup's Egg Drop Soup Collection

Hi there everyone!

I sure have missed posting on the AMLT blog lately! I found out I was pregnant about two months ago and lost my energy and creative mojo soon after that. Life has been busy, but I'm so glad to bring to you today this really pretty new line from Jillibean Soup called Egg Drop Soup. It's PERFECT for Spring and also perfect for all of those Easter photos you have to scrap. Here's a layout & a simple card that I created using this sweet line. I hope they inspire you to order some of this collection and scrap those springtime and Easter memories.

Birthday layouts revisited...

Elizabeth here, I know I mentioned in a previous post that I did not enjoy doing birthday layouts because of all the random pictures and poor lighting, etc. But recently I finished a birthday layout that I ended up liking and even enjoyed the process!

I love to do a large photo collage on the one side of the layout and then highlight the birthday boy on the other side.

Another option for a birthday layout would be to do something like this...

(Boys oh boys, this layout is old!), it is hard to see the title, but it says 'my favourite things at 3'. I love to write down random things that they are into at a certain age, and what better time to document it than on a birthday.

I have birthdays on the brain because this little guy in the previous layout will be turning 6 on Saturday! Let the good times roll! Have a great day everyone and thanks for checking in at the blog!
